Message from Chetan Bhagat

...who felt that the readers of this blog should read his message as well.

Hi Samit,

Thanks for your mail. I read your piece too. Very good indeed. But I hope you
are not geniunely hurt by it or something.

But some old fogies hitting literary menopause is amusing, to say the least. Graceful exit - ever heard that phrase people? I wish i could get more involved in this but i) all these guys use such complicated english in their arguments that i give up right at the start (you win dude, just leave me alone) and ii)i'd rather spend the time writing or connecting to my readers. Besides, a lot of it is really boring.

There is a dark side to all this - that even for some highly educated people -
the white stamp still matters. All I can say to them is - do we really need
white people to tell us what is a good story? But then, who listens to me.

We are lucky to be born in a country of a billion people. There is plenty of
audience right here. And last I checked, the sound of a brown man clapping and
white man clapping is the same.

I never voice this in the open, but this have half a mind to ask you to post
this mail on your blog. Oh well, just do it. Everything is allowed in the duck
of destiny.

Regards to you and all your readers,
God bless,
Chetan

What else to say other than that ChetanB said it all that I wanted to say. And on his lines, is'nt sound of 100 brown men clapping more than sound of 10 white clapping.

Regards,
Matt

Wow, writers are such complex people! :)
Education hardly has any co-relation with not seeking forstamp of approval, it probably makes us more conscious...
An actual televised writers’ wrestling contest sounds like taking Reality TV to all new levels! :)
The Tehelka piece was fantastic.
